But Which venue?!… OMG

He dropped to one knee, your eyes start dripping a little even if it’s just an eyelash as he asks, “Will you marry me?” If you’re reading this blog, it’s likely you said “YES!” or you’re at least sincerely considering it. Now what?! Deep breath, we are here to save your special day and will even wear a cape if the job requires. No really, we’ve officiated as characters in Star Wars, we do what it takes.

Let’s bypass all the hairy decisions (yep I said hairy but they make products for that) of what kind of wedding you want to have (church, elopement, micro, destination, I could go on but you’re falling asleep as am I and I’ll cover this in another blog) and assume you decided on a venue that has a ceremony and reception at one location. There’s a couple of things to consider here. Have you decided 1,000% on a date? If you choose your date BEFORE finding a venue, this makes the process much more challenging or less challenging because depending on how far out you start looking the dates open are going to be limited especially if you choose a high demand time like the currently popular Fall months. So finding a venue within your budget that has your date open will narrow your options quickly the longer you wait. If you are stuck on a date, let’s say 11.11.2022 because let’s be honest it’s a cool number anniversary, you need to start this process at least a year in advance. If you haven’t tattooed your wedding date on your ankle yet, which makes the planning that much easier, then you can procrastinate a little in touring venues and selecting the perfect one. I will caution you strongly here in the procrastination preparation, the longer you wait on anything, vendors included, you will end up having to settle. And if you don’t handle stress well, procrastinating will make things more stressful in the long run. Make a to do list and check things off it. Reward yourself with a fun part of the planning (cake tasting, duh, you can never taste enough cake) after you’ve done the thing you aren’t looking forward to.
